About Us

Health Air is a not-for-profit organization that was established and incorporated in Texas in 2006.

AIRCRAFT TRANSPORT

Health Air's purpose is to provide flight assistance to individuals in need of medical attention who are without the means to provide transportation to these services for themselves. We also provide other medical and/or crisis-related flight services.

GROUND TRANSPORT

Keep Austin Mobile, a Health Air community project, provides wheelchair- accessible transportation to clients in the Austin-Metro area to include who need medically-related transportation. We also provide transportation for individuals with special needs who are unable to provide this for themselves. Individuals schedule rides through our partner clinic or directly with Health Air's on-line scheduling system. We currently service the counties of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell.

TRANSPORTATION NEEDS

Each year multiple individuals in need of medical care are left without the ability to obtain appropriate transportation to their providers. In response to this shortage of service, Health Air provides professional pilots, aircrafts, ground vehicles for KEEP AUSTIN MOBILE, and schedule coordination. Health Air primarily transports individuals in medically underserved communities to locations where they can receive high quality treatment and care, but all individuals in need are welcome, regardless of socioeconomic status.

WHO WE SERVE

Overcoming the barriers of geography and transportation is especially important for those individuals who have conditions that require consistent and regular follow-up care (e.g., cancer, dialysis, etc). For those living in rural or medically underserved areas/ populations, it may be difficult to access regular medical care, higher-quality of care, or specialized treatment. Individuals who are under 18, over 65, have low income, and/or are uninsured or underinsured face barriers to health care, increasing their odds or shorter periods for survival and reduced quality of life. Health Air, along with Keep Austin Mobile, provides services to help overcome transportation barriers so these individuals receive the healthcare they require.

HOW WE SERVE

Health Air and Keep Austin Mobile identifies patients and medical facilities through relationships with hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals. Health Air reaches out to transportation networks to help fill gaps in services, especially for underserved clients. We communicate and coordinate with small and rural airports to provide convenient flight arrangements for our clients. In partner-ship with Texas State Aviation and Austin Radiological Association, Health Air services include appropriate air and ground transport and professional pilots and/or drivers.

HEALTH AIR works with partners and stakeholders to maximize community resources and fill gaps in service for clients.
